Software List
- Abakt for Backup - great tool with 7zip integration.
- SugarCRM - IBM Sales Specialist: "This CRM system is as good as Siebel, which usually cost around €1,000,000. I am really impressed by this software and cannot believe it is free. I am going to get rid of my Siebel shares." - I guess there is nothing to add.
- CAO-Faktura [de]
- Mediamonkey (with great functionality to organize your music library)
- GIMP
- OpenOffice (even better than MS Office)
- PSPad (a very good text editor - with syntax highlighting)
- NetDrive is a tool from Novell which enables you to mount remote FTP / SCP / DAV Directories into your filesystem (download - de - en)
- GcMail (I am using this mail program for a really long time now..., (I am using the internet since 1994). I was very frustrated with the mail programs which were out there. Outlook Express was never an option, Outlook was even worse. Thunderbird which is not bad, did not exist. Try it and see for yourself. )
- WireShark (for Wireless Connection you might want to try to install a program called Network Stumbler)
- Infra Recorder (a good Nero alternative)
- TortoiseCVS & TortoiseSVN (it took me a while to find it, but it is great) "The coolest Interface to (Sub)Version Control"
- MPlayer (there is only one good Player in the World and it is free)
- WinSCP3 (SCP and SFTP connections without any problems. press F5 to upload or download)
- PuTTY (pronounce /ˈpʌti/)
- Xming (all you need is a real X server, which is easy to install) You might think, why should I install an X-Server on a Windows machine, but it makes life easier if you have to add a new user or group to a red hat machine. Even firefox can be a great help, if you have to test things on a remote server. But to see the window you need an X-Server on your machine. I tried most of them - Cygwin/X is a lot of work, and you need to know which packages you need to install,StarNet Communications X-Win32: works but is commercial and the interface was never that great, XWinLogon: I cannot remember what it was, but it was not that great, try it if you like, but Xming is really the best. So don't spend any money on X-Win32. The alternative is Xming.
- Trixbox (an very easy way to install your personal PBX. In case someone tries to find a solution for incoming calls with blueface.ie through freePbx / trixbox.) - and if you need a good trixbox tutorial. If your TrixboxServer is behind a firewall make sure you are forwarding the right ports.
- X-Lite (a good Softphone, though only one active SIP account and not open-source )
- 7zip (there is not much say about it, just try it)
- IrfanView (very fast image viewer)
- SEO Article (commented and rated by the 37 leaders in the world of organic search engine optimization)
- My Phone Explorer: Probably the best Mobile Phone Backup / Archive / Explorer
- Bulk Rename Utility
